12345

You know it is funny. With all the music that has been created I have only been exposed to very little and most of it in recent years after getting over some religious mind sets. Music is something
I love more than most things yet I have only experienced very little in comparison to a lot of people. Out of all the little experiences I have had I think that Switchfoot has impacted me the most. Most times when I listen to music I really only hear the music and not the lyrics but, with Swithchfoot their lyrics have taken me through some tough parts of my life. Not to mention I still think that have a very unique and distinct sound compared to most.

I have been totally listening and re-listening to "Faust, Midas and Myself" lately. It hits me really deeply. My husband and I have both gone through the nightmare of thinking we might not be where we wanted to lead our one life, and God brought us through to the morning, where what was once routine is the greatest joy. Such amazing lyrics! (And they are also astounding in concert!

Tasha - my friend Jeremy actually wrote the post "12345" about Switchfoot, not me. However, I will say that I truly enjoy Switchfoot as one of the best rock bands of the new millennium (although I was listening to them in the 90's - they're "big time" now). They have some of the greatest lyrics IMHO and I love their power pop guitars and drums.

Also, to name drop a little now (you need to expect this from me when I can do it)... my good friend (and Jeremy's) is the drummer for Mutemath, who spent several weeks on tour with Switchfoot and The Fray (what a great tour, eh?). He said they were all great guys and that they really lived their values - it was not just a show.

Cool, no?
